Our model gives students the freedom to learn in the way that suits them best, while remaining fully part of a single Thames Hybrid School community. Each week begins and ends with live lessons, and each Wednesday brings everyone together in Hammersmith for the conversations, friendships and shared projects that make a school.

Who we're for

Built for students ready for something different

We work with secondary-age students who haven't thrived in a traditional classroom, and who are ready for rigorous academic teaching, a smaller community and real flexibility in how and where they learn.

  • Students who focus better at home but miss the friendships of school
  • Young performers, athletes and others with demanding schedules
  • Families looking for a calmer, more personal secondary education

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

How do students make friends if most lessons are online?

Small live classes mean students talk and work together every day, and Wednesdays in Hammersmith are designed around community: shared projects, lunch together, clubs and time simply spent with friends.

Which ages do you teach?

From January 2027 we welcome students into Years 9 and 10, studying for GCSEs, and Year 12, studying A levels. Get in touch to discuss the right year group for your child.

Will my child sit GCSEs or A levels?

Yes. Students in Years 9 and 10 follow a full curriculum leading to GCSEs, and sixth formers study A levels. All lessons are taught live by subject specialists.

What does my child need at home?

A laptop or computer with a camera and microphone, headphones, a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work. We help every family set up before their first day.

How is my child kept safe online?

Lessons take place on a secure school platform that only our students and staff can join. Safeguarding is built into how every lesson runs, and each student has a personal tutor who checks in every day.

Can students join mid-year?

Where places allow, yes. Email office@thameshybridschool.com and we'll talk it through.
